Attendees: Pastor Joe Tarpley, Dessa Boynton, Celeste Tolbert, Bill Hansen, Les Swick, Diane Rutledge, Aaron Davis, Mike Smith, Ed Garrison, Kathy Woods
Not in attendance: Aaron Byrd, Erin Brady, Stephanie Knapp
Mike Smith opened the meeting at 6:01 pm
Joe opened us in a devotion on the book In the Name of Jesus that we are studying. Then he led us in a prayer.
Minutes updates from last month….
Carolina Day School memorandum to be redacted from all minutes.
Trustees’ threshold for $5000 & Facilities threshold is $2000.
MAP credit for Joe.
Diane & Les approved minutes with changes above.
Immigration Notes from Pastor Joe:
Roll out with Safe Sanctuary (Jennifer), Preschool (Dana McGraw) and Bridges.
- Name to be Law Enforcement Policy.
- Add date of today
- Review each year in the Fall
Bill and Dessa motioned to pass, and all approved
All Are Welcome – group submitted statements titled “Who Are United Methodists” (attached to minutes) to be reviewed by Board to consider hanging in the Colonnade area.
Les will take care of hanging it up somewhere in the Colonnade.
Working Team thresholds review are ok.
COM is still reviewing their thresholds (Dessa will have an update). Missions team primarily.

High traffic on the website and attendance is good
Council on Ministries from Celeste (see page 4)
College Ministries – 17 students were sent December packages

Trustees – Les
John Schbowtin (sp) met with our insurance person. Discussion and communication were the purpose.
15% increase to plan for the coming year. Signed us up for electronic notifications. Terry renewed workers’ comp through 2026. Prices were the same.
Apartments behind our land have been approved by City (Feb 2025). Not sure when construction will begin. 700 units.
Preschool is requesting 3 trees to be trimmed. Preschool doesn’t play outside there when windy for safety.
Preschool money being used for playground maintenance. Should it be partially under church funds?
$3,700.00 have been donated by the pre-school families. Mulch will be needed again in the fall.
Trees will be trimmed during spring break. Next Fall they will have 50 students. Kelly Le Fluer is retiring. Also, an assistant teacher is leaving.
Sunday, April 27th, is Pre-School Sunday. Picnic lunch and possibly bubble man.
Finance WT would like to see financials quarterly.

Mission Action Plans Update (Joe and Celeste).
All group leads, Working Teams, and staff should fill this out.
The MAPs will be handed out in a fazed roll out beginning in May and finished by August board meeting. Celeste and Patty O will work on this. See attached (is in email)…..
Mid-July for Vacation Bible School.
