In the summer of 2026 our church hosted a viewing of the documentary, “1946: The Mistranslation that Shifted Culture.” The movie, according to its IMDB entry, is about “the mystery of how theology, history, culture, and politics led to a Biblical mistranslation, the man who tried to stop it, and the impassioned academic crusade of the LGBTQIA+ Christian community driven to discover the truth.”
Several church members attended the viewing and discussion that followed.
Now, Brenda Venhuizen, who is the co-leader of our All Are Welcome ministry, has videoed a review of the movie that she is excited to share in hopes of getting others in the congregation to view the film. This documentary can be watched on Amazon Prime for a small fee.
Below is the trailer for the movie. If you’re interested in learning more about the movie, its website can be found here and its Facebook page can be accessed here.
