Join Kari Kopp, facilitator, for a short-term (two half-days) UMC-developed study on Race Relations called “You Are Here.” We will meet at church on 2 consecutive Saturday afternoons – Nov. 10 and Nov. 17 from 1PM to 5 PM. The purpose of the group is to encourage spiritual growth and understanding about how institutional and systemic racism negatively affects Christian witness and work – AND how learning more about this aspect of life can help us all to LOVE-GROW-SERVE! We had excellent attendance and meaningful conversation when we did this class earlier this year, and I am sure we will again! This new curriculum was written by the UMC General Commission on Religion and Race and includes thought-provoking videos and guided discussion. This study is appropriate for all adults, no matter how much anti-racism work you have done, or have not done. (If there is interest, but folks are unable to commit to the 2 separate days, we can discuss some options.) Please reach out to Kari Kopp at kari.kopp1961@gmail.com to either sign up or to ask questions. You can also call me at 828-335-5331.
