Blessing Boxes (on campus and at Sweeten Creek Mobile Home Park)
The Blessing Boxes are little food pantries available 24/7 to anyone in need. Skyland UMC cares for two boxes.
One is located on our campus and one is at the Sweeten Creek Mobile Home Park. "Take what you need; leave what you can" is their motto. Help yourself to any of the items at any time. If you'd like to make a donation, non-perishable, non-expired goods can simply be placed in the Box. Large quantities can be placed in the plastic bin on the ramp at the front of our building. We are blessed to share with our neighbors in this way.
Latino Outreach
Skyland provides outreach at the Sweeten Creek Mobile Home Park through our Blessing Box at that location. We would love to have more volunteers for this site and being bilingual is a bonus (but not required)! Times vary.

Loving Food Resources (LFR)
Loving Food Resources (LFR) is a food pantry that provides food, health, and personal care items to people in 18 counties of WNC who are living with HIV/AIDS or who are in Home Hospice care regardless of diagnosis. The utilize volunteers to help with unloading and sorting donations (no more than two hours on Friday). On the 2nd and 4th Saturday they love volunteers to bag produce to be handed out.
Manna Food Bank
The Skyland UMC congregation has entered into a partnership with Manna Food Bank to provide monthly food distribution at two locations: our Skyland UMC campus and Sweeten Creek Mobile Home Park. There is time for fellowship with your church family, while providing much needed food to our local community residents. For more information about food insecurity: https://www.mannafoodbank.org/
