A Celebration and Farewell
After more than 20 years of faithful service, Terri Miller, our financial administrator, has announced she will enter retirement effective May 1st! Terri has cared for the financial health of Skyland with great dedication, integrity, and attention to detail throughout the years and we are so excited for Terri to enter this new chapter of life. Beyond her excellent work, she has been a warm and kind presence within our church family, and we are deeply grateful for the many ways she has served Skyland over the years. She will truly be missed.
A New Role for Jennifer Blanton
With Terri’s retirement, Jennifer Blanton will expand her role of church administrator to include financial operations. Jennifer comes from a background in finance and the Board of Stewards is confident Jennifer will continue to provide steady leadership in this new role with the upmost integrity and maintain the strong organizational foundation that supports our church’s daily life.
As Jennifer takes on these expanded responsibilities, she will be stepping away from her role as children’s ministry assistant.
Expanding Leadership in Children and Youth Ministries
Another exciting transition involves Anna Ahern. For nearly four years, Anna has provided outstanding leadership to our youth ministry and prayerfully expressed a passion to work with our children’s ministry as well. We are confident she will bring the same energy, professionalism, and care to our children’s ministry. This is an excellent opportunity for Anna to expand her ministry responsibilities and an exciting transition for our children, youth, and their families. The Board of Stewards remains committed to strengthening and growing our ministries for children and youth. We believe Anna’s leadership will help guide this important work during this season of our life together.
We anticipate Anna assuming the role of Director of both Children’s and Youth Ministries by August.
Looking Ahead: Communications Ministry
With Anna transitioning to her new role, we are shifting our focus to church communications. For several years, we have benefited from having a staff member dedicated to guiding and strengthening how we communicate with our congregation and community. In today’s world, effective communication remains a vital part of ministry. Because of this, we will begin immediately searching for someone to join our staff to lead our communications efforts moving forward.
We are grateful for our dedicated staff and their talents that continue to serve Skyland. The Board of Stewards are delighted to celebrate Terri’s retirement and to promote career growth and new opportunities for our excellent staff. Please join us in congratulating them all in their new endeavors! As we step into this new season together, we trust that God will guide and bless the work ahead.
