“Therefore, welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.” – Romans 15:7
Skyland United Methodist Church affirms the worth and dignity of all people. We believe everyone is created in the image of God, that God’s love extends to all, and that all people are of sacred worth. Just as Jesus invited everyone into fellowship, we welcome to our congregation all people without regard to race, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, ethnicity, appearance, faith tradition, physical or mental ability, family makeup or socioeconomic status, country of origin, or any other issue that might divide God’s family. We celebrate the beautiful diversity of God’s creation.
Do no harm. Do good to all. Stay in love with God.
These three general rules that John Wesley established serve as our guiding principles in the work of inclusion.
“For in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith. There is no longer Jew or Gentile, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male and female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus.” – Galatians 3:26-28
We believe in the vision of John Wesley that although we may not think alike, we can love alike. We seek to provide a space to listen, learn, and love all of God’s creation.
